John L. "Jack" Rice

An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed hunting & spending time at the cabin in Perry County.

Funeral Services: Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.

John L. "Jack" Rice, 73, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra Noll Rice with whom he was married 54 years. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late James W. and Beatrice Whener Rice.

Jack graduated in 1965 from Donegal High School and was employed for the past 25 plus years at Mussers Supply, Inc. In the past he worked for Pennsylvania Malleable, R.T Mechanical and U.S Aluminum. He was a devoted member of Reich's E.C. Church and formerly served as a church Trustee and President of the Church Board. A former member of the Marietta Boro Council, he also served on the board of the former Marietta Area Ambulance Association; was a member of the Marietta Fire Company and the American Legion Post 466.

An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed hunting and spending time at the cabin in Perry County. In his youth he excelled in basketball and played and coached with the Reich's E.C. softball team. Jack loved doing various projects with his family and watching football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to his wife are his daughters, JoAnn, wife of Tom Brill; Paula, wife of Dave Mowrer; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat, wife of Earl Binkley; Joan Segesser; Carol Reisinger and Linda, wife of Butch Paris. He was preceded in death by his son, John L. Rice, Jr. and siblings, Mike Rice, Arlene Groff, Maryanne Geesey and Jimmy Rice.

Funeral services will be held at Reich's E.C. Church, 338 Stackstown Road, Marietta, PA 17547 on Saturday, June 15, 2019 promptly at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Blank, officiating. Interment will follow in the East Donegal Township (Reich's) Cemetery. Friends may view at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory may be made to Reich's E.C. Church.
