William (Bill) George Perkins

Bill loved his family and enjoyed opportunities to go fishing with them.

bill will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in a private ceremony.

A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date and will be announced by his family.

 

William (Bill) George Perkins, Sr., 82, of Middletown entered eternal rest on August 29, 2023. Bill was born in Philadelphia to the late William R. Perkins and Abby (Schull) Perkins.

Raised in Lancaster County by Clay and Susan Acheson, Bill was a graduate of Solanco High School with the class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Perkins retired from Kmart Corporation where he was employed in security and loss management. Bill was an associate member of the Lancaster County Marine League where he was active in the Toys for Tots program and enjoyed playing Santa Claus for countless organizations and events. Bill enjoyed cooking and eating with friends and family. Bill loved his family and enjoyed opportunities to go fishing with them.


William leaves behind three children, Rose, wife of Terry Snyder of Elizabethtown, Bill Perkins, Jr. of Marietta; Donna Perkins and Fiancé' Bruce Kronman of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Samantha (Snyder) Hallman, wife of Doug, Hannah Breedlove, Kyra Perkins, Conner Grimecy, Brian William Breedlove; three siblings, Laura Mason of New Jersey, Robert Perkins of West Chester, Alan Perkins of Texas. In addition to his parents, William and Abby, he was preceded in death by his former wife, mother of his children, Mary Perkins; a son, Robert Wesley Perkins; his foster parents, Clay and Susan Acheson; three siblings, Frank Schull, Dolores Devlin and Harry Perkins.


William will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in a private ceremony. A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date and will be announced by his family.
