Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 297 S. 5th Street, Columbia, PA, Reverend Adrian Boxley officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Charles Eugene “CC” Sanders, 70 of Marietta, PA passed away at his home on January 14, 2024, with his wife Cathy by his side, a loving position she has had as his companion for 45 years. Charles was born in Norton, VA, the older of two sons to the late Harold Sanders and Willie L. Embry. Charles also was deeply loved by his stepfather, the late William “Bill” Jankans. Charles leaves to cherish his memory a son, Nestor Delgado, Jr. (Elma) of Pasadena, TX, a daughter, Maria Delgado McEvoy (Brian) of Manheim, PA, three sisters Deloris Hawkins (Nathan), Lancaster, PA, Linda White (Marvin), Pell City, AL, Betty Jean Cole, Pell City, AL, a brother Billy Sanders (Alice), Lancaster, and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
His childhood education took place in Big Stone Gap, VA and Pell City, AL. The family relocated to the Marietta area in 1969 where Charles graduated from Donegal High School in 1972. He received a basketball scholarship to Millersville University and he received a degree in Sociology in 1979. In his professional career, Charles served with passion as Director, Alternative Rehabilitation Communities, Inc. in Dover (York) County and as an Instructor for the Drug & Alcohol Referral Program, York Hospital.
