Cynthia E. Spangler

A memorial service for Cindy will take place at Twisted Bine Brewery 93 E.Main St. Mount Joy , coordinated by her family. She will be laid to rest at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.

Cynthia E. Spangler, 64, of York, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. (Jr.) and Mary R. (Sanders) Bookmyer. Her husband, David Spangler preceded her in death.

Cindy graduated from Eastern York High School. She held multiple jobs over her lifetime, but she most enjoyed working as a proofreader at Maple Press Company. Cindy was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, where she spun and dyed wool to create the traditional garbs for the Middle Ages reenactments. She was an avid reader who treasured her large collection of books. She also enjoyed playing music on the piano and clarinet. She was a avid pet lover owning horses, dogs, and birds over her lifetime.

Cindy is survived by her son, Adam Spangler (Kerri), of Yorkana; her grandchildren, Cloe and Thomas Spangler, of Yorkana; siblings, Linda Bookmyer; Diane Foster; Janet Diffenbach; Ken Bookmyer (Susan); and Jo Ann Bookmyer; sister-in-law, Patricia Bookmyer; nieces, Dallas and Ashlyn Foster, Perry Bookmyer ,Victoria and Gabrielle Diffenbach, Lee-Ann and Alice Dragoon; and nephew, Sean Bookmyer. In addition to her parents and husband, Cindy was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Bookmyer.
