Richard D. Resh

Dick was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Columbia and was an avid Penn State and Phillies fan.

 

Richard D. Resh, 94 of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 after a lengthy illness under the care of Hospice and Community Care. He was the husband of the late Blanche Garner Resh with whom he was married 35 years until her death in 2013. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Farmer Resh.

Richard retired from the RCA Corporation where he was employed as a machinist. After his retirement, he continued to work for 20 years at the Manheim Auto Auction. Dick was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Columbia and was an avid Penn State and Phillies fan. In his earlier years he excelled in bowling and softball and enjoyed golf and playing cards.

He is survived by his children, Clifford Garner (Nancy); Cindy Knier (late James); Robin Garner; StevenGarner (Nicole); Vicky Beers; Mike Resh (Jane); Kathy Resh; Sandra Leonard (Terry); grandchildren,Crystal, Samantha, Delmar, Matthew, Jeanne, Amy, Justin, Sylvia, David, Anna, Greg, Nathan, Joshua, Aaron, Sarah & Sean; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two children, Deborah Ames (Ralph); John Garner and siblings, Betty Tavaglione, Dorothy Tierney, and Jim Resh.
