Gerald "Jerry" L. Arter

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who treasured spending time with his family.

In honor of Jerry’s final wishes he is to be cremated with no formal services.

Gerald L. “Jerry” Arter, 75, of Columbia passed away on December 9th, 2019. He was born in Columbia to the late Chester and Evelyn Arter and was a lifelong resident of this area. Jerry attended Columbia High School and worked as a body shop mechanic for many years before starting his soft pretzel company, Daddy-O Soft Pretzels. Which he was very proud of. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who treasured spending time with his family.

Jerry leaves behind his wife of forty years, Betty Arter of Columbia; three children, Beth, wife of Mike Rice of Lititz, Sherry Lentz of Columbia, Robert, husband of Lisa of Gap; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Josh, Chad, and Zach; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Mazzie, Harper, Olivia, and one on the way; one sister, Linda Becker of Manheim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings.
