Jacqueline C. Pickle

Avid lifelong reader who was known by all for her knowledge.

Celebration of Life: Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

Jacqueline C. Pickle, 86, of Columbia, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2019. She was raised in Columbia by her late parents, Donald and Hazel Sampson Helwig. Jackie attended Columbia High School and graduated from Lancaster Business School. She retired in 1997 from her secretarial position at Donegal Mutual Insurance Company, Marietta.

She was an avid lifelong reader. She was known by all for her extensive knowledge of everything. In her retirement she volunteered at the Milanoff Schock Library, Mount Joy. She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband of 67 years, Donald R. Pickle, Sr. who preceded her in death last November. Together they also enjoyed their mountain cabin in Pennsylvania and their trailer in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.

She leaves behind her children, Donald Jr., husband of Amy Pickle, Marietta; Jon, husband of Patricia Pickle, Conestoga; Susan, wife of Paul Enrico, Hellam; Julie, wife of Patrick Davis, Mount Joy; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan wife of Ernest Leo, New Cumberland.

A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Reich's Evangelical Church, 338 Stackstown Road, Marietta, PA 17547 with the Rev. Dan Blank, officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 555 Gettysburg Pike, Suite A300, Mechanicsburg, PA.
