James J. Lilley

James was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the former Baltimore Colts.

Services for James will be private and he will be laid to rest with his late wife at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.

 

James J. Lilley, 97, of Lancaster passed away on September 9, 2024. He was born in Columbia to the late George and Daisy Lilley and was a lifelong resident of this area.

James proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of George Washington University where he majored in accounting and became a certified public accountant. James began his career with the New Holland Machine Company. He went on to work with Herr and Company before serving as the Chief Financial Officer with S.L.C. Fashion and retiring in 1987. James was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the former Baltimore Colts. He also enjoyed raising canaries.

James leaves behind his son, Jim, husband of Linda Lilley of Lancaster; his companion of twenty-two years, Elizabeth Laudenberger of Stewartstown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nora Lilley in 2002 and five siblings.

Services for James will be private and he will be laid to rest with his late wife at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. James’ family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Estates Retirement Community and Grane Hospice for their loving care given to James.
