Joseph A. Fincher

One of Joseph’s favorite pastimes was playing the guitar.

Joseph will be laid to rest during a private burial at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens

Joseph Allen Fincher, 75, a lifelong resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was the oldest son of the late John and Erma Yohe Fincher. 

Joseph attended Columbia High School and proudly served his country while in the Marine Reserves. He worked at ITT Grinnell before becoming a trash truck driver and trash collector with a local waste disposal company for many years. One of Joseph’s favorite pastimes was playing the guitar. He had a unique and special relationship with his mother, whom he adored tremendously. 

Joseph is survived by his brother, Gary Fincher, of Columbia; sisters, Erna, wife of Ronnie Hoffman, of Frenchville, PA, Stephanie, wife of the late Robert Sholly, of Wrightsville, and Beth Packard, of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Witmer. 

Joseph will be laid to rest during a private burial at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia. His family kindly requests that flowers are omitted. Arrangements made by the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., Columbia/Landisville. www.Clydekraft.com
