Dr. Chester L. Kenney

Chester was a self-taught guitarist and became a guitar instructor and teacher for many years.

A small memorial service will be held in the future.

Dr. Chester L. Kenney, 80, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Columbia, PA. He was the son of the late Patrick Kenney, Sr and Louise (Choice) Kenney. He was a self-taught guitarist and became a guitar instructor and teacher for many years. He also loved listening to music for hours while smoking his pipe. He was a religious man and he loved learning and furthering his education. He received his Practitioner of the Neotarian Doctrine from the Neotarian College of Philosophy. He also received certificates in Bible Reading from New Standard for Living and Bible Reading from the Mt. Leo Church of Christ. He also loved electronics and he had acquired certificates in Electronics Technology and Advanced Troubleshooting 1& 2 and Electronics Technology with Laboratory from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics. Diploma in TV/VCR Repair from International Correspondence Schools and a Certificate in VCR Servicing from Healthkit Educational Systems. 

Chester was preceded in death by his brothers Patrick Kenney, II, and William M. Kenney; and his loving wife Murlene Kenney. Surviving siblings are his brother, Marvin R. Kenney of Columbia, PA; two sisters, Bernice Hurst of York, PA; and Dorothy Noon, who resides in Lancaster, PA. Also, a host of nieces and nephews survive. His remains were handled by the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home of Columbia, PA.
