There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Private burial service will follow in Silver Spring Cemetery.
Harold E. Shellenberger, 88, formerly of Columbia and Marietta, passed away on Friday, December, 29, 2023. He was the husband of the late Lois Carman Shellenberger who preceded him in death in 2011. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Theodore S. Sr. and Josephine Reickard Shellenberger.
Harold retired in 1999 after 29 years of service from the Armstrong Ceiling Plant, Marietta. He was a member of the Marietta Boat Club. He enjoyed trips to the beach, observing the local wildlife, and being outdoors as a hunter and fisherman. He loved the companionship of dogs and could often be found giving treats to them under the table.
He is survived by his son, Scott W. husband of the late Pamela Shellenberger; grandchildren, Andrew W. husband of Kim B. Shellenberger, Leah E. Shellenberger, Hayley wife of Ade Adeyemo, and sister Carol Frey. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Philip Shellenberger and brothers Gary W. and Theodore S. Shellenberger, Jr.
Harold's memorial service will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark S. Kopp, officiating. Private burial service will follow in Silver Spring Cemetery. There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org
