Services for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time
Hazel L. Akers, 78, of York passed away on September 8th, 2021. She was born in Wytheville, VA to the late Hansel, Sr. and Mary Akers. Hazel lived a simple life and had an endearing naivety about her. She enjoyed her sweets, coffee, and her late dog, Mia. Hazel could make you laugh and her sense of humor will be missed by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who adored her family and treasured spending time with them. Hazel also loved the Lord and had been a member of Reamstown Church of God.
Hazel leaves behind her daughters, Tina, wife of Michael Troop of Hershey; Barbara Stewart, fiancé of Orlando Bryson of Manchester; four grandchildren, Megan, wife of Edward Kohr of York, Erica, wife of Dondre Williams of York, Ryan, husband of Olysa Troop of Wrightsville, Bradley Stewart of Manchester; six great grandchildren, Haven, Landon, Huxley, Freyja, Angel, Kaysen; six siblings, Joe, husband of Sandy Akers of Ephrata, Margaret, wife of Ray Harnish of Pulaski, VA, Hansel, Jr., husband of Marilyn Akers of Darlington, SC, Michael, Sr., husband of Kathy Akers of Strasburg, VA, Randy Akers of Lugoff, SC, Teresa, wife of Roy Evans of Surfside Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
