Funeral services: Monday, November 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, PA
viewing will be held at the church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Silver Spring Cemetery with military honors presented by Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
Kenneth L. Sheckard, 80, of Columbia, went HOME to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Carole Clark Sheckard to whom he was married for 52 years. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Mary Carson Sheckard.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1961. He retired as a payroll supervisor for Anvil International. Ken was very active in sports and coached baseball for many years. He served on the Board of Lancaster Midget Baseball League where he was former President and Vice President. Also, Ken attended Manor Church, Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Seth husband of Elizabeth Sheckard, twins, Ann Sheckard and Mark husband of Nicole Sheckard; grandchildren, Derek Sheckard and his fiancé Alicia Waltemyer, Andrew and Erin Sheckard; great grandchildren, Raelynn and Brynlee Sheckard and a sister, Sandra Hilt.
Funeral services will be held for Ken on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, PA with Rev. Dan Sigman and Seth Sheckard, officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Silver Spring Cemetery with military honors presented by Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to the Columbia Dream Center, 360 Locust Street, Columbia, PA 17512.
