Sister Mary John Goles, ASC, 94, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. Anne's Retirement Community. Born in Steelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Sestric Vergot Goles. Sister Mary John was preceded in death by her siblings, John, Jack, and Steve Vergot;Joseph Golesh, Anthony, Matthew and Catherine Goles.

Sister Mary John entered the Adorers of the Blood of Christ on August 28, 1939. Her ministries included serving as principal and teacher of elementary schools and serving as local superior.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel at St. Anne's Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512 on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Norman Hohenwarter, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the adjoining convent cemetery. A brief service and recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. Donations in memory of Sr. Mary John may be made to the ASC Retirement Fund, 4233 Sulphur Ave., St. Louis, MO 63109 or at www.adorers.org.
