Richard R. Forry

After honorably serving the country during the Korean War in the U.S Army, he graduated from Duke University earning his Doctorate degree in American History.

A service of remembrance and time of sharing will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St. Columbia PA on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation one hour prior.

 

Richard R. Forry, 89 of Columbia, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was the husband of the late Nelda Mathias Forry with whom he was married 62 years until her death in 2021. Born in Hellam, he was the son of the late Elwood and Grace Forry.

After honorably serving the country during the Korean War in the U.S Army, he graduated from Duke University earning his Doctorate degree in American History. He later retired from the Missouri State Park System as a supervisor after many years of service. While residing in Missouri, he and Nelda were active with the Friends of Arrow Rock, a nonprofit historical preservation organization.

Richard is survived by his son, George R. Keyser II (Cynthia); grandchildren, Emily Gofus (Jeffrey), Ty Keyser (Jennifer), Alix Keyser-Wilson (Paul), Hallie Keyser, Taz Keyser (Kate); ten great grandchildren; his siblings, Fran Herzog, Audrey Thompson, sister-in-law, Audrey Zercher and many nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance and time of sharing will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St. Columbia PA on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation one hour prior.
