Robert M. McClung

Proudly served in United States Navy from 1963 -1967 aboard the U.S.S. Pine Island.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 10, 2023 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512.

The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.

 

Robert M. McClung, 79, of Columbia went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:00 a.m. with the time change on November 5, 2023. He was born in Newark, OH to the late Emory and Alma McClung.

Robert was a graduate of McCaskey High School and proudly served in United States Navy from 1963 -1967 aboard the U.S.S. Pine Island. During the Vietnam War he was exposed to Agent Orange. Following his service, Robert worked with the former Bolova Tech until his eventual retirement. For three years he was part time maintenance with St. Anne’s Retirement Community.

He was a loving family man who adored his grandchildren and treasured spending time with them. Robert was a faithful member of Hope Born in Christ Church.

Robert leaves behind his wife of almost twelve years Bonnie McClung of Columbia; three daughters, Michele, wife of Alex Medina of York, Alysia Dickens of Columbia, Krystal, wife of Mark Lane of York; three grandchildren, Kaliope, Benjamin, and Nevan; one great granddaughter, ZelleMae; two siblings, Bud, husband of Bonnie Mason of Mingo Junction, OH, Donna, wife of Richard Wade of Ivanhoe, NC; sister-in-law, Shirley McClung of Lancaster; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carol McClung; his son, Nathan McClung; three siblings, Bill McClung, Doris Gasbarro, and Betty Shannon.

Services for Robert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 10, 2023 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
