Marian C. Miller, 74, of Marietta, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Marian Holby.

Marian was employed for 38 years for Arrow Consulting Inc., Lititz, where she worked in the accounting department. She enjoyed the company of her family and going to the beach.

She is survived by her daughter, Erica A. wife of Jon Flowers; son, Austin M. Miller; four grandchildren, Hallie Stuber, Kenna, Declan, and Brendan Miller. Her sister, Shirley wife of Edward Falk, also survives. A brother, Clair Holby, Jr., preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Earl W. Condran, Jr.

Earl’s greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Earl W. Condran, Jr., 70, of Landisville, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his residence on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late Earl W. Sr. and Laura Stotz Condran.

Earl graduated from Middletown Area High School in 1968 and was employed as an operation shift manager at QVC until retiring in 2013.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially his Penn State Nittany Lions, cooking, reading, and relaxing at the beach, but his greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Earl valued his relationships with his family, friends, and coworkers and continually put others’ needs ahead of his own. His kind heart, witty sense of humor, and big hugs will be greatly missed.

Earl is survived by his two sons and their wives, Derek and Patricia Condran of Marysville and Chance and Alenna Condran of Enola; longtime companion Amy Eck of Landisville and her son Kenny Wagner of Longs, SC; brother Charles “Chuck” Condran, husband of Candace Condran, of Grantville; and three grandchildren, Tessa, Julian, and Brooks.

Due to pandemic restrictions, a Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date and will be announced by his family on social media platforms. In remembrance of Earl's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Penn State Four Diamonds Fund.

Betty V. Bridgette, 97, of Columbia died January 21, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late Albert L. Waters, Sr. and Nellie Howard Waters Bailer.

She is survived by her daughters Tanya Minnick, Winter Haven, FL, Suzanne Skennonto, York, Vivian Bridgette, Columbia and son, Nathaniel Bridgette, Arizona.  Her sisters Shirley wife of Robert Poindexter, Columbia and Glorea Gray wife of the late Edward Gray, Lancaster along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her children Jackson E. Bridgette, Jr., Darlyne C. Bridgette, George R. Bridgette and Phyllis A. Craley.  She was also preceded in death by sisters Vivian, Jenny, Esther, Nancy, Ethel and brothers Albert, Richard, Bethel, Edward, Laverne and Charles.

A public visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. All other funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Marietta Cemetery, Fairview Avenue, Marietta PA. If attending any events, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Carol A. Sponar, 73, of Columbia passed away on January 19th, 2021. She was born in San Francisco, CA to the late John T. and Margaret Sheehy Sponar and lived most of her life in Columbia. Carol worked and volunteered as a nurse’s aide at Fairview Manor, Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, and St. Anne’s Retirement Community. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Carol leaves behind her sister, Rosemary Weidman of Clay Township; her sister-in-law, Hazel Sponar of York; her nephews, Jon and Justin Sponar; grandniece, Emily Sponar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Sponar.

Bonnie L. Ryan

Bonnie’s family meant the world to her.

Bonnie L. Ryan, 80, of Landisville passed away on January 12th, 2021. She was born in York to the late Frank and Erma Sprenkle Snyder and was a lifetime resident of this area. Bonnie worked for many years with Giant Food Stores in the deli. She lived a simple life and was loved by many. She was always there when someone needed her and willing to give whatever she had to give.

Bonnie loved to read, do puzzles, play cards, watch MASH, HGTV and game shows, flowers, gardening, scratch off lottery tickets, going on bus trips to Atlantic City, and being with her family. Bonnie’s family meant the world to her. She adored and cared for her six grandchildren, Jennifer O’Neil Black wife of Howard Black, Michael O’Neil, Timothy O’Neil husband of Lindsey, Jesse Herman, Nichole Barnes and Ian Seifried and ten great grandchildren, Lexi Young, Olivia Herman, Austin O’Neil, Jenna Brenner, Aiden Davenport, Mason Brenner, Keira O’Neil, Avery O’Neil, Alyssa Caplinger and Dustin Caplinger. Bonnie also leaves behind her daughter, Tammy, wife of Rick Seifried of Landisville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ryan in 1981 and her daughter Deborah O’Neil in 2008.

Bonnie’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Tonya Leahy, Joni Yarnall and her Hospice Care team, Mandy, Christina, Jasmine and Donna for all the excellent care given to Bonnie over this past year.

Tammy would like to personally thank her husband, Rick, for all of his love, support and caring for both mom and her. Additionally, she cannot thank her family and friends enough for all their help, love and support!

Michael was employed by T. Berry Trucking and drove tri-axle dump trucks.

Michael L. Wanner, 62, of Mount Joy, passed away at home on Saturday, January 16, 2021 due to an aggressive form of cancer. He was a loving husband, father, and pappy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Marvin C. Wanner and Arlene Wanner-Sload. Michael was the husband of Sherry A. Wanner.  He was employed by T. Berry Trucking and drove tri-axle dump trucks.

Michael is survived by his wife Sherry and two sons, Brandon, husband of Lindsay Wanner of Maytown, and James Bigelow, companion of Kailynn Lake of Elizabethtown; one grandson, Henrik Wanner; one grandchild on the way; two sisters, Linda Fulmer of Columbia, and Sandy, wife of Richard Eisenberger of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Marvin C. Wanner, Jr. And Richard E. Ruhl.

Mary Jane Bell, 90, of Mountville, passed on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at home. She was the wife of the late Jack P. Bell who preceded her in death in 1982. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late William H. Sr. and Mary Haugh Hogendobler.

Over her lifetime, along with being a devoted wife and mother, she worked for Susquehanna Glass and Rivard Popcorn Company. Mary Jane was a member of the Ironville United Methodist Church, loved animals, was a great cook and an avid trivia player. She also enjoyed watching the TCM channel on television, particularly westerns. She also enjoyed spending quality time with niece, Andrea Hogendobler-Williams.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Matthew W. Zimmerman, Emily E. Zimmerman, Seth M. Zimmerman, Adam P. Zimmerman; brother, William H. Jr. husband of Terry Hogendobler, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy E. Bell, grandson, Andrew S. Zimmerman, and her sister Nancy Mosteller.

A viewing will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A private family service and interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens will follow the viewing. Alfred C. Palmer

Following his military service, Fred began a career as an independent long haul truck driver and amassed more than three million miles of driving.He was affectionately known as “Pop” to his family.

Celebration of Fred’s life, with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at Washington Boro Cemetery.

Alfred “Fred” C. Palmer, 79, of Long Level, Wrightsville passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home on January 10th, 2021. He was born in Columbia to the late Clark Dean Palmer and Irene Clara Ackerman. Fred was a graduate of Columbia High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he began a career as an independent long haul truck driver and amassed more than three million miles of driving. Fred was also a lifetime Mason and avid outdoorsman who was a member of the Susquehanna Fish and Game and American Legion Post 469. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbia. He was affectionately known as “Pop” to his family. May he rest in peace.

Fred leaves behind his children, Ryan E. Cover of Mountville, Mitchell E. Cover of Lancaster, and Stefanie L. Margolis of Long Level, Wrightsville; his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rita Palmer in 2013.

Ruth Kremer Leader, 86, of Lancaster passed away on January 11th, 2021. She was born in Sunbury to the late Jacob and Mary Weaver Kremer. Ruth worked for AT&T as a telephone operator for many years until her retirement. She was an art enthusiast who enjoyed going to musicals and watching the Hallmark Channel. Ruth was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Nationals, and Philadelphia Phillies fan. She also loved to travel, especially to Rockport Maine. Ruth was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster.

Ruth leaves behind her son, John, husband of Melissa Leader of Lancaster; her granddaughters, Jenn Leader of Lancaster and Kristen Lewis of Washington Boro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Leader in 2009 and four siblings.

Services for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. Her family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her late husband. Donald A.L. Zink, Jr.

He was a member of the Blue Rock Fire Department volunteering as a fire policeman.

Donald A. L. Zink, Jr.,43, of Columbia, died unexpectedly of natural causes at Penn Medicine LGH on January 11, 2021. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Donald A.L. Zink, Sr. and Peggy Lehman Dennis. He was a member of the Blue Rock Fire Department volunteering as a fire policeman.

In addition to his mother are two sons, Anthony and James Zink and sister Brittney Dennis.

A future celebration of Donald’s life is being planned by his family.

Jeffrey A. "Jeff" McMillen, Sr., 60, of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Marie Romano McMillen with whom was married 24 years until her death in 2009. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Madeline Sheckart Brown and the late Robert Brown.

Jeff graduated from Columbia High School in 1978 and for the past 35 years he was the owner of the Midway Collision shop in Columbia. Jeff was known for his big personality, and even more so, his big heart. He was loved and will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey A. McMillen, Jr. husband of Carolyn McMillen and their son Isaiah Jeffrey McMillen; sisters, Julie, wife of Mark Kaufman; Diane, wife of Ed Bernard; Robin Brown, and a brother, Thomas, husband of Diana Brown.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA 17512 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, mask and social distancing will be followed. Derek A. Peace, 36, of 41 Red Bud Dr., Conestoga, PA passed away at his residence on January 5, 2021. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of Larry Peace, Sr. and Brenda Suydam Peace.

Derek was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving is his mother, Brenda Peace of Conestoga, PA., his father, Larry Peace, Sr. of Kinzer, PA., a daughter, Taylar Peace Gaskin of Conestoga, PA., brothers, Larry Peace, Jr. of Ephrata, PA and David DiEugenio, Jr. of Conestoga, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dillon DiEugenio.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery with Pastor James Tanner officiating. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Melinda A. Curry, 68, of Salunga, passed away on January 6, 2021 at her residence after a brief but valiant battle against leukemia. She was the wife of Larry J. Curry, Sr. with whom she was married 45 years. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John C. Licht III and Rosemary Kelly Licht.

Over the years, Melinda was employed by American General Insurance Company, K-Mart, and most recently QVC. An ardent reader, she also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, gardening, crafting, collecting Victorian knick-knacks and dolls, and attending the Philadelphia Flower Show annually with her sister.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Larry J. Curry, Jr. husband of Abigail and their children, Chase and Savannah, and her sister, Marylou, wife of Robert Haldeman.

Funeral services will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 247 Main St., Landisville, PA on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark S. Kopp, officiating. Private interment in Landis Valley Cemetery. Friends may view at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service. Jessica Renee Snyder, 36, of Hallam passed away, surrounded by her adoring family, on January 5th, 2021. She was born in York to Mark and the late Teresa Snyder and was a lifelong resident of Wrightsville. Jessica attended and graduated from Eastern York High School. She enjoyed rock painting as a hobby. Jessica was a loving daughter, sister, and friend, but most of all she was a mother who cherished raising her children.

Jessica leaves behind her children, Camron and Brendyn Ream, Asya and Ayden Murray all of Hallam; her father Mark Snyder of McFarland, WI; her sister Greta Gohn of Wrightsville; a niece, Gabrielle Gohn of Wrightsville; close friend and caregiver, Melissa Fryberger of Hallam; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Frances M. Webb, 51, of Columbia, passed away on January 4, 2021. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Mae Stiffler Webb. Fran was employed as a lead packer in the shipping department of the Susquehanna Glass Factory, Columbia. She enjoyed 70's and 80's rock music, especially the Scorpions and attending concerts.

She is survived by her companion of 16 years, Samuel C. Edye; children, Kayla M., wife of Richard E. Sharp III and Dillian M. Edye; grandchildren, Samantha, Richard E. IV and Kyli. Her brothers, Richard E. Stiffler; David C. Stiffler and sisters, Patty Ann Alvelo; Deb Swift and Stephanie, wife of Chuck Heath also survive. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael, Ronnie, Sandy and Sue.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA from Noon until 1:30 p.m. A graveside service in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Robert L. Kreider, Sr., 90, of Columbia and formerly of Kinzer passed away on January 1st, 2021. He was born in Lancaster to the late Lester and Pearl Kurtz Kreider and attended Paradise High School where he played varsity basketball. Robert proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserves and then worked as a block and brick mason at Kinzer Block Plant until his retirement in 2003. Following his retirement, he worked part time for MK Builders until 2019. 

Robert leaves behind his children, Robert, Jr. husband of Cathy of Lancaster, Sharon Bair of Columbia, Ron, husband of Rebekah of Columbia; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy McCauley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Meshey Kreider in 2007; a daughter, Stacy Kreider; two siblings, Betty Miller and Dawn Prevost.

A private graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery where Robert will be laid to rest with his late wife. Mary R. “Becky” Beck, 83, of York and formerly of Columbia passed away on January 1st, 2021. She was born in Columbia to the late Arthur and Rebecca Uloth and graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1955. Becky served as the secretary at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Columbia throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. She was a devoted wife and mother and was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and her knowledge of local wildflowers. Becky was a faithful member of St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church in York where she was an active member of the Antiochian Orthodox Women.

Becky leaves behind her children, Jean, wife of Stewart Williams of Charleston, SC, Jeffery, husband of Kitty Beck of Newark, DE; three grandchildren, Anna Beck of Newark, DE, Armen and Margo Beck of McLean, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Donnell Beck who passed in 2002.

A private service will be held at St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church and she will be laid to rest with her late husband in the church cemetery. Donna Mae Voight, 70, of 400 Union Street, Columbia, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Robert G. Voight and Dolores (Reed) Voight.

Donna was previously employed by Keystone Caps, Columbia, PA for many years. She enjoyed participating in crafts and ceramic classes. She also loved family get-togethers and dancing to her favorite songs. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Donna. 

She is survived by her siblings, Carol (Voight) Siegrist, wife of Harry Siegrist, Mt. Joy, PA; Barbara Voight, companion of Melissa Ford, Columbia, PA; Robin (Voight) Bessick, wife of Terry Bessick, Columbia, PA; Robert G. Voight, Jr., companion of Tracey Stauffer, Columbia, PA; her loving companion, John Erisman, Columbia, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, PA, to be determined at a later date.

Nora E. Welsh, 79, of Marietta passed away on December 27th, 2020. She was born in Russell County, VA to the late Luther and Dorothy Wilson. Nora was known to be very social. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, tending to her flowers and garden, and her bluegrass music. Nora was an avid NASCAR fan. She was wild about Jimmy Johnson and would never miss a race. Nora adored her family and treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Canoy Brethren in Christ Church.

Nora leaves behind her children, Edward, Jr. husband of Bonnie Welsh of Middletown, Denise Welsh-Barndt, wife of Brian Barndt of East Petersburg; Connie, wife of Stephen Oravec of Wiconisco; Brian, husband of Heather Welsh of Manheim; Rick, husband of Denise Welsh of Mount Joy; grandchild that was raised by Nora, Jessica Zimmerman of East Petersburg; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; three siblings, Louise, wife of Dave Sanders of Bluefield. VA, Lawrence, husband of Loretta Wilson of Richland, VA, Verlin, husband of Dottie Wilson of Elizabethtown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Edward Welsh, Sr. in 2019 and her grandson Shane Zimmerman.

A graveside celebration of Nora’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8th, 2021 at Silver Spring Cemetery. If attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Harriet L. Long

Harriet enjoyed many tasty desserts, her home was always spotless, she enjoyed telling a funny joke and could solve a Wheel of Fortune puzzle faster than the participants on the show

Harriet L. Long, 92, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was the wife of the late Russell L. Long who preceded her in death in 2001. Born in Drumore Township, Lancaster PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Zink Trimble.

Harriet was employed as a private housekeeper for the Kegal family of Lancaster for over 30 years. Harriet and Russ enjoyed vacations with family members at the shore. She enjoyed many tasty desserts, her home was always spotless, she enjoyed telling a funny joke and could solve a Wheel of Fortune puzzle faster than the participants on the show.

She was child number 14 of 16 and is survived by one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
