I graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1975 and I played baseball, softball, wrestling, and street hockey for as long as I can remember. I worked hard and retired from Alcoa after being there for 35 years. I’m going to miss watching my Dallas Cowboys and my poor Baltimore Orioles play. I haven’t really left, but after a brief illness, I decided to check out.
I leave behind, for now, my companion Verdie Cramer of Bucyrus, OH; my mother, Joan Robinson of Columbia; my four siblings, Toni, wife of Glenn Hallacher of Wrightsville, Chuck, husband of Diane Robinson of Columbia, Tammy Musser of Columbia, Joni Sausman of Wrightsville; my nieces and nephews, Cain, Tara, Kelsey, Chelsi, Emily, Jacob, Sara, and Luke. Carole Z. Faust, 77, of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, September 20, 2018 at home. She was the wife of Peter W. Faust with whom she was married 55 years. Born in Franklin Pa, she was the daughter of the late Philip M. and Elizabeth Howard Ziegler.

She graduated from Penn State University and was a lifelong Nittany Lion football fanatic. She attended countless games at Beaver Stadium and several bowl games including the 1986 Fiesta Bowl when they won a National Championship! Carole loved to travel and did so frequently in her younger days. She especially enjoyed her trips to England, Spain, Germany for Oktoberfest, Prague and the Cayman Islands. Not the mention the many trips taken with her closest friends, Andre and Sally Beaumont. She was a fulltime working mother and spent most of her career as an educator. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Services in 1981 from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. Soon after, she became the Director of Zoerner House Student Counseling Center at Rider from which she retired in 2002.
