Sister M. Colette Tenley, ASC, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. During her last weeks, when the weakness of her age and health, caused her to be confined to bed, she was accompanied constantly by her ASC sisters and visited frequently by the staff of St. Annes’s who wanted to share gently in her last moments on this earth.

Sister Colette was born in Wabeno, WI, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mathilda Laury Tenley. Her delightful presence touched many persons during her well-lived 98 years of life.

Sr. Colette entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes in 1948 in Fond du Lac, WI. After living and ministering with these Sisters for thirty four years, she discerned her calling and transferred to the Adorers of the Blood of Christ in Columbia, PA in 1982. Sister always showed a concern for the other person. During her entire religious life, she was active in health care. Her ministries included nursing, director of nursing, administrator of retirement homes, assistant administrator at St. Anne’s Retirement Community and pastoral care at Holy Spirit Hospital in Harrisburg.

With a great devotion to Mary and a deep appreciation for the spirituality of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Sr. Colette lived her life being a compassionate presence to her dear neighbor. She was very gracious with and among all those whom she encountered.

Sr. Colette was preceded in death by her two brothers, Donald and Robert, the last of her immediate family and she was greatly loved by her surviving nieces and nephews, as well as her ASC community and her many friends.
