Dr. Catherine M. Weaver, 88, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Born on February 29, 1936, in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Margaret (Leibfried) Weaver.

She attended Holy Trinity Grade School, and Lancaster Catholic High School where she was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapter of the National Honor Society. She, subsequently, studied at Villanova University, and Mt. St. Mary's College where she graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education. After teaching in Maryland and Delaware, she received a federal grant to pursue a master's degree in mathematics. She graduated, in Virginia, with an MS in Mathematics, and came to Lancaster Catholic High School as Head of the Mathematics Department.

At this time, she continued graduate courses in Mathematics and Computer programming at Johns Hopkins University and the University of San Francisco. At Penn State and the University of Connecticut she, also took courses for certification as a Secondary Principal and Superintendent of Schools. Her next position was Principal of McCorristin High School a coed institution of 1400 students, in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

After qualifying test scores at Temple University, she was offered a scholarship and assistantship toward a doctoral degree. She worked part-time as assistant to the Dean of the College while pursuing her doctoral degree. Accepted into the Phi Delta Kappa Honor Society, she received a $10,000 Polishook Award for her doctoral research related to computers in higher educational administration and supervision.

During the succeeding years, she worked part time at Millersville University, and took a sabbatical at Catholic University and Notre Dame University, in Indiana. As Chairman of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, at Neumann College, in Delaware County she continued her work in higher education. Upon retiring, she taught part-time at HACC for several years.

She is survived by cousins.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the relatives.
