Edmund A. Wickenheiser, Jr., 80, of Columbia, passed away on May 6, 2019 at Landis Homes after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Susan Conrad Wickenheiser with whom he was married 49 years until her death in 2011.

A proud and lifelong Columbian, he was the son of the late Edmund A. Sr. and Patricia Faltin Wickenheiser. Ed was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and later attended Franklin and Marshall College taking professional courses in business and management. He started his radio and television career beginning at WCOY, WGAL Radio, WSBA Radio where he worked as a journalist, news director, and operations manager. He was the news director at WGAL-TV for 21 years before retiring in 2000 to spend time with his family.

Among his many professional awards and honors, he received five Emmy's from the National Academy of Arts and Science – Philadelphia Chapter while news director at WGAL-TV. Ed was a member of the Radio-Television News Directors Association; Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association serving as its President from 1997 thru 1998 and the Lancaster Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

He enlisted in the USMC in 1956 and served three tours of active duty with the Marines during the Cold war, Vietnam and during the Persian Gulf War. He retired in 1994 as a Chief Warrant officer-4 with 38 years of combined active and reserve service. Among his many Military decorations Ed was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon; Meritorious Unit Citation w/two stars; Organized Marine Corps Reserve Medal w/seven stars; Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/TWO Hour Glass devices and the "M" device and the South West Asia Medal w/one star. He was a Life member of the Marine Corps League-Detachment #294 and the Lancaster Chapter, Military Officers Association of America.

Ed was a devoted and active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector and Choir member. Among serving on various committees and councils, he was active in the Holy Name Society and received it's "Man of the Year" in 2003. Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2294; served as Grand Knight (1963-64); served as District Deputy, District 39 (1969) was a member of the Santa Maria Assembly 915 and the CWV Post 1306.

He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Post 335, Explorer Scouts and was a merit badge counselor for the Lancaster-Lebanon Boy Scout Council. Ed's civic affiliations include serving 17 years at the Lancaster County Hospital Authority; Local Emergency Planning Committee; County of Lancaster Emergency Management Agency; Columbia Boro Disaster Plan Committee and the Lancaster County Counter Terrorism Task Force.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen wife of Phil Heckert; grandchildren, Eric husband of Ginger, Brian husband of Carli and Todd and friend Courtney. His brothers, Bernard Wickenheiser, Michael Wickenheiser husband of Trisha Webster and very special friend, Lucy Fox.

The Wickenheiser family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the staff of Landis Homes for the excellent care and support given to Ed and themselves during his stay there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St., Columbia PA 17512 on Saturday, May 11, 2019 promptly at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen P. Kelley, Celebrant. Burial will follow with military honors in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Harold P. Hoak, Jr., of Columbia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 28th, 2019 surrounded by his family, whom he loved very much. He spent three months fiercely battling the complications from a stroke. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Harold P. Hoak, Sr. and Dorothy M. McAllister Hoak. Harold graduated from Penn Manor High School with the Class of 1963. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Vietnam War from 1965 - 1967, receiving many commendations for his expert marksmanship in combat. He was employed by R.E. Friedly as a cabinetmaker and by ITT Industries as a machine operator, retiring in 2014 after 34 years. Harold enjoyed hunting especially in Potter County. He was a member of the Columbia Fish and Game, American Legion Post 372, Life Member NRA and the VFW Post 8757. He enjoyed watching Phillies baseball and Notre Dame football.

Harold is survived by his wife of 53 years, Julie Wickenheiser Hoak; his son, Stephen H. Hoak, husband of Kathleen of Columbia, and his daughter, Julie Lynn, wife of Jamie McDonald of Wyomissing; and three grandchildren, Kaitlin Hoak, and Lauren and Tyler McDonald; his sister, Connie, wife of Glenn Ament of Conestoga.

At Harold’s request, he will be cremated and services will be private and at the convenience of his family. No flowers please. Michael Scott Wilkinson, 59, of Columbia passed away on April 27th, 2019. He was born in Columbia to the late George and Mary Zink Wilkinson and was a life long resident of this area. Scott attended Donegal High School and was a jack-of-all trades that worked for himself. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Scott adored his family and though he was known to be stubborn, he will be remembered for his sense of humor.

Scott leaves behind his daughters, Kelly Wilkinson, companion of Cosme Muniz, Jr. of Mountville, Crystal Wilkinson, companion of Michael Davis of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren and one on the way, Ayliciana, Ivan, and Julian; six siblings, Diane O'Brien, wife of Curt O'Brien of Columbia, Donna Derstler, companion of Gary Cook of Columbia, Barry Wilkinson of Columbia, Gary Wilkinson of Mount Joy, Greg Wilkinson of Mount Joy, Dave Wilkinson and wife of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bethann in 1981 and a nephew, David P. Smith in 2006.

Charles U. Odenwalt, Jr., "Chuck," 57, of Mount Joy, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Charles U. Sr. and Eula Mae Thomas Odenwalt.

Chuck was a graduate of Donegal High School, Class of 1980 and was employed for a number of years at Wilton Armetale, Nordstrom and Haines Pure Protein. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, loved animals, watching vintage cartoons and TV shows, country music, Ocean City, MD, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and holidays. He was also a member of the Florin Fire Department.

He is survived by his siblings, James Odenwalt; Earl Stotz; Virginia, wife of Amos Zuck and Jean Odenwalt. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Linda Marie Weibley, 66, of Landisville passed away on April 18th, 2019. She was born in Lancaster to the late James and Jean Lawrence Graybill. Linda was a graduate of Hempfield High School with the Class of 1971. She worked for many years for Peerless Hardware as a machinist. Linda treasured time with her family, many friends, and her grand-dogs. She attended Church of God of Landisville.

Linda leaves behind her son-in-law, Dennis Eshleman of East Petersburg; two grandchildren, Amber Eshleman, companion of Adam Kramer of Newmanstown, Robert Eshleman, fiancé of Lisa Denlinger of Holtwood; two sisters, Debbie Graybill of Columbia, Evelyn, wife of Fred Greenya of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family; six grand-dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Weibley in 2018, her daughter Tammy Eshleman in 2016, and two brothers.

John H. Raber, 92, of Marietta, formerly of Chester, VA passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at home. He was the husband of the late Minnie Hamilton Raber with whom he was married 58 years until her death in 2006. Born in Bainbridge, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Elizabeth Engle Raber.

A U.S. Navy veteran, John proudly served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He retired after 41 years of the service from the Department of Defense, Richmond VA. He previously worked at the former Marietta and Middletown Depots. A member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marietta, he was also a member of the F&AM #94, Chester, VA and enjoyed playing pinochle.

He is survived by his sisters, Frances Cranford, Rose McNaughton and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene, Bobby, Paul, Helen, Sally, Jenny, Edith, Grace and Pauline.

Funeral services will be held from the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1290 River Road, Marietta, PA 17547 on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Traci Benditz Glover, officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in Silver Spring Cemetery. Family and friends may view at the church one hour prior to the service. Harry J. "Tiny" Sauder, 71, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at home. He was the husband of Janet "Tut" Warner Caswell Sauder with whom he was married 25 years. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Harry W. Sauder and Ruth Adamire Sauder Gaus.

Tiny retired in 2009 after 44 years of service from the Landisville Short Line Railroad where he worked in all phases of operations. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia where he was active in the Men's Club and received the "Man of the Year" award in 2016. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved spending time with his faithful canine companion, Franco Harris Sauder.

He will be remembered by his family as a "Jack of all Trades" and a "Mr. Fix It" who enjoyed gardening and raising animals on his small farm.

The family would like to express their appreciation to family friend Bonnie Martin and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and support given to Tiny and themselves during his illness.

In addition to his wife are his children, Janet, Tabitha, Tara, Anthony; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Harriet, Rose, Roger, Donald, John and Harry. He was preceded in death by his children, Sherry Lee, Harry J. Jr. and brothers, Paris "Mutt" and Edward.

Dinkel, 83, formerly of Washington Boro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where had resided for the past ten months. Born in Norwood, West Hempfield Township, he was the son of the late August and Anna Kauffman Dinkel.

A graduate of Columbia High School, he served in the U.S Army and was last employed as a production worker at Turkey Hill Dairy, Conestoga. Earlier in his life he worked as a floral designer at various area flower shops.

He was a member of the Washington Boro United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a leader for the M.Y.F. Fred enjoyed raising exotic plants, spending time on the Susquehanna River, going to auctions and collecting of all types.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Krafft and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, August “June” Dinkel; Edward K. Dinkel, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Raezer and Mary Ann Henry.

Francis M. “Mike” Krow, 74, of Mountville, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Kay Reiff Johnson Krow with whom he was married nine years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry G. Sr. and Margaret Weaver Krow.

Mike graduated from Columbia High School in 1962 and retired in 2006 after 45 years of service as a supervisor from Hamilton Precision Metals, Lancaster. He was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, Lancaster and was a longtime and active member of the Columbia Jaycees. In addition, he was a member of the Lancaster County Corvette Club and enjoyed model railroading. Mike also coached baseball for 15 years with the West End Athletic Association.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, M. Edward, husband of Heather Krow; three granddaughters, Amanda, Emily and Lea; stepchildren, David Johnson, Marc Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Sarah Hillyard and eight step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry G. “Bud” Krow, Jr. and sister Phyllis Zangari.

A memorial service will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St. Columbia PA 17512 on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin E. Readman, officiating. August "Gus" Weis, 78, passed from this life at Lancaster General surrounded by his family on March 29, 2019 from complications of flu and post polio syndrome.

Born in Columbia on April 18, 1940 he was the son of the late August John and Anna Denison Weis. Gus married his high school sweetheart, Joline Wolpert and celebrated 59 years of marriage on January 9, 2019.

He was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1959 where he was Class Treasurer. Gus worked for Local 341 Lancaster and Local 520 Harrisburg as a plumber/pipefitter and welder working in power plants throughout the area, including Three Mile Island.

He is survived by his wife, Joline; their children, Steven August (Gisele) Weis; Susan Kathleen (Charles) Sowerbrower; and Maryann Frances (Adam) Drolet; grandchildren, Kimberly Weis Bomenka; Steven Robert (Jamie) Weis; Kevin August Weis; Justin Charles Sowerbrower and Miranda Frances Sowerbrower; Alexander Cortez Drolet, Isabella Lostris Drolet, Addison-Joseph Keir Drolet and Emma Pearl Drolet; and one great-grandson, Joseph August Weis; his brother, George (Terry) Weis and sister, Sally Weis Reese and large extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Weis and sister, Mary Lou Brecht.

Melissa Rose Swift, 60, of Marietta passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 28th, 2019. She was born in Johnstown to the late Bernard F. and Dorothy Droz Weigle and lived in Marietta for the last thirty years. Melissa attended Lampeter-Strasburg School District. She worked as a C.N.A. for Brereton Manor in Washington Boro and Cherry Street Guest Home in Columbia before becoming a sales representative for Goodwill Industries in Elizabethtown. Melissa eventually worked her way up to manager of that store all while managing her family’s real estate business. She finally retired from Michael’s Homestyle Breads as a baker’s assistant. Melissa was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for post 466 where she also participated in the Legion Riders. She enjoyed making picture collages for her family to treasure. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family.  

Melissa loved her family “to the moon and back” and leaves behind her husband of twenty two years, Michael Swift of Marietta; two sons, Bradley, fiancé of Kirsten Kreider of Wrightsville, Gerald Kreider of Marietta; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Karley Kreider, and one on the way; two siblings, Gerald, husband of Julie Weigle of Manheim, Kimberly, wife of Dave Brubaker of James Creek; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family; her canine companion, Yeager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernadette Judge.

Elam Eugene Faus, 72, of Landisville passed away on March 24th, 2019. He was born in Lancaster to the late Richard Frey Faus and Edna Martin Faus and was a lifelong resident of this area. Elam was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School with the Class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with tours in Pleiku Vietnam. He later continued to serve fallen veterans with his involvement in the Vet 21 Salute Honor Guard. Following military service, he purchased Lancaster Blueprint Company in 1970 and operated it with his wife until 2006. Elam was active in his community and was a Past President of the former Hempfield Optimist Club, charter member of the Manheim Township Jaycees, and Past Master of Masonic Lamberton Lodge #476, 32° Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Lancaster, Lodge of Perfection, and Harrisburg Consistory. He was also an active member of the Mount Joy American Legion Post 185, Mount Joy VFW Post 5752, the Lancaster Elks Lodge #134, and the Red Rose Pistol Club. Elam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who adored his family.

Elam is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Constance “Connie” McCoy Faus of Landisville; his daughters, Janice, wife of the late Michael Corrigan of Annapolis, MD, Jennifer Sebelist, fiancé of Chris Fulginiti of Manheim Township; four grandchildren, Conor and Maura Corrigan, Jillian and Katherine Sebelist; a sister, Gloria, wife of Frank Gappa of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Elaine Erb.

Dominic J. "Mick" Roda, 84, of Mountville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St Anne's Retirement Community. He was the husband of Ruth E. Helm Roda with whom he was married 62 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Segro Roda.

Mick was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1954 and retired in 1994 after 33 years of service from the National Cash Register Company where was employed as a field engineer. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in New Mexico and Texas for two years and after being honorably discharged, worked briefly as a barber.

In addition, he enjoyed boating on the Susquehanna River from Long level, NASCAR, his pet boxers, rooting for the Philadelphia sports teams and spending time with the joy of his life, granddaughter, Emily.

In addition to his wife, is his son, Michael, husband of Jane Roda; granddaughter, Emily; siblings, Jean, wife of Norman Huhn; Josie, wife of Joseph Gerz; Jack, husband of Annette Roda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St. Columbia PA. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Naomi F. Ortman, 93, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2019 after a period of declining health. She was born in Columbia to the late Mervin and Mary Myers Rupp. Naomi was a graduate of Columbia High School and was a devoted housewife. She loved animals, enjoyed riding her bicycle, and treasured vacations with her family. Naomi was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Manheim.

Naomi leaves behind her daughters, Vickee, wife of Frank Mikolic of Manheim, Kim, wife of Randy Sweigart of Manheim, Linda Long of Lebanon, Sandy, wife of Allen Snavely of Manheim; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Ortman in 2009; her daughter, Tina Ortman in 2014; twelve siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia. Richard E. "Rick" Miltenberger, Jr., 59, of Wrightsville, formerly of Columbia, passed at his residence on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Mary Stauffer Miltenberger and the late Richard E. Miltenberger, Sr.

Rick was employed for the past 41 years at ITT Engineered Valves, Lancaster, where he worked as a nuclear inspector. He was a life member of the Wrightsville Scoial Club; Columbia Fraternal Association; a member of the Foresters of America, Susquehanna Court 235; Chickies Rock Lodge 307, L.O.O.M; American Legion Post 372 and the Catholic War Veterans Post 1306. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother are his children, Christine M. Miltenberger; Steven M. husband of Amanda Miltenberger; siblings, John R. husband of June Miltenberger; Sharon L. Miltenberger; Patricia A. Miltenberger; Donna J. Miltenberger; James A. Miltenberger and Susan M. Miltenberger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. His brothers, Michael E. and Gary L. Miltenberger preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc. 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA 17512 on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Beverly Kay Raff (Brenner) of 715 Walnut St. Columbia, PA died on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA. She was the wife of Joseph R. Raff, Jr. They were married on June 19, 1955. Born in Columbia, PA on July 30, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen Ada Mare Miller Brenner.

She held jobs at the following: Hanes Shoe Store, C.A. Herr Hardware, Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens and Brenner Accounting Services. She was a member of the First Church of God, Columbia. Bev loved her family and very much enjoyed spending time with them. Her family was her life.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter-in-law: Jo Raff of Columbia, PA and a brother: Joseph T. Brenner of Wrightsville, PA., grandchildren: Crystal R. wife of Richard Jensen and Joseph D. husband of Cristy Raff and great-grandchildren: Aaron Raff, Sophia Raff, Isabella Jensen and Liam Jensen. She was predeceased by a son: Joseph R. Raff III on March 22, 2013 and a daughter: Dianne K. Raff on April 5, 2013 and a sister: Doris Brenner Nock.

Beverly's Life Celebration will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11:00AM (VIEWING: 10:00AM – 11:00AM) with Rev. Margaret A. "Peg" Seibert, 78, of Lancaster, past away peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at home. She was the wife of Robert F. Seibert, Jr. with whom she was married 54 years. Born at home in Middleburg, Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late John B. Jr. and Margaret Snook Schuck.

Peg graduated from Middleburg High School and Shippensburg University. She retired in 2002 after 25 years of service as a teacher at St. Leo the Great Catholic School, and had also taught in the Columbia Boro and Hempfield School Districts.

A member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, pinochle and giving piano lessons. Peg particularly enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach in Avalon, the family cabin in Orangeville PA, the EWAP Group and playing golf with the Four Seasons Women's Nine Hole Golf League.

In addition to her husband, are her sons, Steven R. Sr. husband of Peggy Jo Seibert, Mount Joy; Christopher J. Seibert, Middletown CT; twin sons, John A. Seibert, Shrewsbury; Joseph A. Seibert, Mount Joy; three grandchildren, Steven R. Jr. husband of Faith Seibert, Marana, AZ; Elizabeth Seibert, Stevens; Thomas Seibert, Middletown CT; five great-grandchildren, D'Angelo, Ruger, Raylan, Blake, Jordan; brother, Jeffrey B. Schuck married to William Graff, Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was preceded in death by her brother John B. Schuck, III.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Lancaster General Hospital, Pleasant View Rehabilitation Center and Hospice and Community Care for the care and support given to Peg and her family during her illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 promptly at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave. Lancaster PA 17601 with the Rev. Peter I. Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Monday, March 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. There will be no family visitation on Saturday, however the family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clyde W.
